Learjet 75

Twin Jet· 66 globally registered

The Learjet 75 Liberty represents the final evolution of the iconic Learjet line before Bombardier ceased production in 2021, ending more than half a century of the brand that defined the light business jet category. Introduced in 2013 as an upgraded successor to the Learjet 45, the LJ75 features a redesigned cockpit with the Garmin G5000 avionics suite, more powerful Honeywell TFE731-40BR engines, and a refined cabin that seats up to nine passengers. With a maximum cruise speed of 465 knots and a range of 2,040 nautical miles, it occupies the sweet spot for corporate shuttle missions and air ambulance operations where speed and runway performance matter more than transcontinental range. The type's steep approach capability and excellent short-field performance, requiring just 3,400 feet of runway, made it popular for accessing challenging airports that larger jets cannot serve. Its relatively light maximum takeoff weight of 24,500 pounds keeps it firmly in the light jet category, offering lower operating costs than midsize competitors while delivering near-midsize cabin comfort. The Learjet 75 became the company's final new design, with production ending as Bombardier pivoted entirely to its larger Challenger and Global families. SkyMeter has tracked 138 flights across 25 airframes and 8 operators, with Anderson Air Ltd the largest observed operator.

Safety in context

The incident rate counts flights with ANY safety event detected by SkyMeter: go-arounds (a routine response, not a failure), unstable-approach gate flags (advisory thresholds), rejected takeoffs (the system working as designed), and runway events. It is NOT an accident rate or fatality rate. For accident statistics, refer to the NTSB Aviation Accident Database (USA) or the Aviation Safety Network. See methodology for what each event type measures.
