Robin Hr 100

Single Piston

The Robin HR100 is a French four-seat light touring aircraft designed by Pierre Robin and produced by Centre Est Aéronautique (later Avions Pierre Robin) from 1969 through the mid-1970s. Distinguished by its all-metal construction and relatively spacious cabin for the era, the HR100 family was developed as a modern successor to the earlier Jodel designs, offering improved performance and comfort for private owners and flying clubs across Europe. The type was produced in several variants with progressively more powerful engines: the original HR100/210 with a 160hp Lycoming O-320, the HR100/250 with 180hp, and the HR100/285 Tiara with a 200hp Lycoming IO-360, each offering incremental gains in cruise speed and useful load. While never achieving the commercial success of contemporaries like the Piper Cherokee or Cessna 172, the HR100 earned a reputation for solid handling characteristics and good short-field performance, making it popular among European private pilots and smaller aero clubs. Production ended in 1976 after approximately 350 aircraft were built, with most examples remaining in service in France and neighboring countries. The type's relatively low wing loading and docile stall characteristics made it well-suited for training and cross-country touring, though parts availability has become more challenging as the fleet ages. Safety in context

The incident rate counts flights with ANY safety event detected by SkyMeter: go-arounds (a routine response, not a failure), unstable-approach gate flags (advisory thresholds), rejected takeoffs (the system working as designed), and runway events. It is NOT an accident rate or fatality rate. For accident statistics, refer to the NTSB Aviation Accident Database (USA) or the Aviation Safety Network. See methodology for what each event type measures.
