Gulfstream Aerospace G650

Twin Jet

The Gulfstream G650 is the flagship of Gulfstream Aerospace's ultra-long-range business jet family, certified in 2012 after a development program that pushed the boundaries of civilian aircraft performance. When it entered service, the G650 became the largest-cabin, longest-range, and fastest business jet in production, capable of connecting New York to Tokyo or Los Angeles to London nonstop at speeds approaching the sound barrier. Its Mach 0.925 maximum operating speed makes it one of the fastest civilian aircraft flying today, exceeded only by a handful of types, and its 51,000-foot maximum altitude allows it to cruise well above airline traffic and weather. Powered by two Rolls-Royce BR725 turbofans delivering 16,900 pounds of thrust each, the G650 can carry eight passengers and four crew across 7,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.85, or push to Mach 0.90 for time-sensitive missions at the cost of range. The aircraft's fly-by-wire flight controls, advanced PlaneView II avionics suite, and enhanced vision system represent the state of the art in business aviation technology. Its cabin, pressurized to a sea-level equivalent at 41,000 feet, offers 1,950 cubic feet of volume across three living areas, setting a new standard for comfort on intercontinental flights. The G650 family expanded in 2014 with the G650ER (Extended Range), which added 500 nautical miles of range through increased fuel capacity, enabling routes like Singapore to San Francisco. Both variants remain in production and are operated by corporations, governments, and high-net-worth individuals worldwide. The type has set more than fifty city-pair speed records, including New York to London in under six hours, cementing its reputation as the benchmark for ultra-long-range business aviation. Safety in context

The incident rate counts flights with ANY safety event detected by SkyMeter: go-arounds (a routine response, not a failure), unstable-approach gate flags (advisory thresholds), rejected takeoffs (the system working as designed), and runway events. It is NOT an accident rate or fatality rate. For accident statistics, refer to the NTSB Aviation Accident Database (USA) or the Aviation Safety Network. See methodology for what each event type measures.
